Forsake The Foolish

Written By: IRoss - Dec• 08•14

Forsake The Foolish.  The book of Proverbs main theme is about wisdom.  Proverbs teaches us the importance of wisdom and it teaches us to forsake foolishness.  The bible points out there is two types of people in the world.  Either we are wise or foolish. God do not care if you are black, white, Mexican, Russian, or Chinese.  God only care is either you are wise or a fool.  A wise person is one that fear God and keeps his commandment.  A Fool is one that do not fear God and do not keep his commandment.  So you can judge yourself to determine which one that you are.  There is no middle of the road, God will judge us by his word and if you keep his word you are wise, if you do not keep his word you are a fool, according to the bible (see Matthew 7:24-27).  But in Proverbs 9:6 it compels us to forsake the foolish, and live; and go in the way of understanding.  We have a choice each day whether we are going to go the way of the wise or  go the way of the foolish.  Wisdom is right before us each day waiting on us to call for him, wisdom wants us to make the right choice, it cry out unto us each day to lean upon him.  We have to make a choice, so why not try to make the right choice.  We have to make up in our mind each day I am not going the way of foolishness, I am not going to be ignorant in my decision making, but I am going to ask God for wisdom each day that I may make the right choice.  So beloved knowing that you got to make a choice each day strive to make the choice of wisdom, forsake every  foolish way, and ask God for wisdom that he may be gloried in everything that you do.  Forsake the foolish and live.

Godliness Is Profitable

Written By: IRoss - Nov• 26•14

Godliness Is Profitable.  1Timothy 4:8 says “For bodily exercise profiteth little:  but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come”.  The world is into fitness and trying to stay in shape.  If you run a 3k, 5k, or even a marathon you would be in great shape.  But the scripture says bodily exercise is only little profit, there only a little benefit into exercising.  There is nothing wrong with exercising it is good to do but there is only little profit in it.  The scripture on the other hand says that godliness is profitable unto all things.  Meaning that if you live a godly life there is a greater benefit from doing it.  The reason is godliness is profitable for life that is now on this earth.  God will bless you on this earth if you live a godly life.  Roman 1;10 says “But glory, honour, and peace to every man that worketh good”.  Psalm 84:11 says “No good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly”.  There is a promise from God that if you keep his word he is going to bless you in this life.  Also God is going to bless you with eternal life.  The gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus if we live a godly life on this earth.  1 Timothy 4:9 says, “This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptation”.  We must accept what the scriptures are saying to us and believe that if we obey God, live a godly life on earth that he will bless us with long life and peace forever.  So beloved exercise is okay, but remember living a godly life is better, there is a greater profit, advantage and gain in obeying God.

Dwelleth In God

Written By: IRoss - Nov• 24•14

Dwelleth In God.  Our whole life is make up of one important thing, and that is knowing that God dwelleth in us.  As a christian there is no more important thing that we should want, than to know God  and know that God is working in us.  How to know that God is working in you is to love everybody.  Now that seem easy, but you would be surprise to know how much hate there is in the world today.  To love your neighbor as yourself is a hard thing to do and you can only do it with God dwelling in you.  The bible in 1 John 4:7 tells us to love another, for love is of God.  You cannot love without God inside of you.  1 John 4:8 says, “He that loveth not knoweth not God, for God is love”.  To know God is to love and if you do not love you do not know God.  To dwell in love is to love one another and if you do not love one another you do not know God.  God has no respect of persons, he do not favor no one over the other.  No matter what race, color, or nation you come from God loves everybody and if we want to dwell in God we have to love everybody.  It is a commandment that we love another, because with love it spreads God all over the world.  As God love so shall we love and if we do that we shall be like God in the world because he loves everybody.  So beloved let us do like Ephesians 4:31-32 says, “Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice:  And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you, and love everybody you see”.

Sowing.  Everyday we are sowing seeds either we are sowing seeds to the flesh or we are sowing seeds to the spirit.  Whether you are a christian or you not a christian you are sowing seeds.  A important note to remember is God is going to judge us according to the seeds we sow.  Is we sowing good seeds to the spirit or bad seeds to the flesh.  In Galatians 6:7 it says “Be not deceived; God is not mocked:  for whatsoever  a man soweth, that shall he also reap”.  There is no way we can fool God, we cannot sow bad seeds, and reap good things, like wise we cannot sow good seeds, and reap bad things.  God is not mock, he is just in all his ways and he is going to reward us according to our works.  In life you may do bad things and get away with it, but with God he will not be deceive, what we do God knows and he will judge us righteously, we are going to get what is right.  So with that understanding we should strive each day to sow to the spirit, that we may reap good things.  How do we sow to spirit?  In Galatians 5:22 it says “But the fruit of the spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance’.  If we in our life let these fruits come out of us each day we are sowing good seeds and God will be please with us.  Sowing to the flesh is adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, envying, murder, drunkenness, and revelling  if we do these things then God is not be please with us.  So beloved sow to the spirit each day that God may be glorified in you, know that you are sowing seeds each day, so you might as well so good seeds so that God will be happy with you.

The Error Of The Wicked

Written By: IRoss - Nov• 10•14

The Error Of The Wicked.  Peter wrote to the Christian church not to be led away with the error of the wicked ( 2 Peter 3:17).  It is important to take notice of this scripture because the wicked is in error and is going the wrong way.  As a christian you do not want to be caught up in the way the wicked is going.  The wicked is doing things against what God says in his word, but they think it is okay to do them.  The wicked say it is okay to lie, cheat, steal, commit adultery, fornicate, envy, and hate another.  The wicked say it is okay everybody is doing something wrong.  But Peter warn the saints to beware and do not fall from their own steadfastness.  In this life you have to be determine to do what is right, no matter if you are the only one.  You cannot listen to no one outside of God word.  You have to have a desire to want to do what is right and to seek righteousness everyday.  Somebody got to take a stand for righteousness, somebody got to take a stand for what God word says, and value the bible for what it says it right. Beloved believe in God word, stand on God promises, and trust that God knows what is best for us, and do not be led away with the error of the wicked.  If you are the only one on your job standing for what is right do it, if you the only one at your school standing for what is right do it, and in the end God will uphold you and bless you because you did that which is right. Be not led away with the error of the wicked.

A Temple Of God

Written By: IRoss - Nov• 03•14

A Temple Of God.  Paul ask the people of Corinthians a question.  What?  Know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?  Yes, we do not own our body, it belong to God.  For 1 Corinthians 6:20 says, “For ye are bought with a price:  therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit which are God”s”.  By God sending his son Jesus to died on the cross and shed his blood for us, we are own by God.  Our body is for God and he dwell in us through his spirit.  We cannot do with our body whatever we want.  We have to make sure we are doing the things that are pleasing unto God.  God should be glorified in our body, he should be exalted in what we do, how we act, how we dress, and our overall appearance should glorify God.  Paul also told the people of Corinthians that we are God temple and if we defile God temple,God would destroy us.   How can we defile God temple?  By fornication.  1 Corinthians 6:18 says, “Flee fornication.  Every sin that a man doeth is without the body, but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body?  So fornication defile the temple so we must flee fornication.  Sex is for married people only.   You cannot have sex outside of marriage at all.  Some religion teach you can as long as you are engage or intend to get married, NO.  Hebrew 13:4 says, “Marriage is honourable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge”.  Sex outside marriage the defile the body and God is not please.  God has made a way to keep the temple clean and that is through marriage, do not believe what the world says, that it is okay.  Trust in God believe in his word keep your temple clean and glorify God in your body, and flee fornication.

Eternal Life

Written By: IRoss - Oct• 27•14

Eternal Life.   For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.   God has made a promise to us that we can have eternal life.   God had fulfilled that promise by giving us his son Jesus Christ.  If we believe in Jesus Christ we can have eternal life.  The most important thing to remember is it is a gift from God.  All we have to do is believe in Jesus Christ and the gift is ours.   We where doom to death because of Adam sins but God with his great mercy, not willing that any man should perish, sent his son Jesus that we can escape eternal death.  God loves us and wants us to live forever.  God plan in the beginning was for us to live forever, to worship and praise him each and everyday.  God only wants what is good for us, his thought toward us are always good.  We know we should all be dead, because of our sins, and no man has done anything to earn eternal life.  The devil is trying his best to keep us from eternal life with the things of this world.  The gift is right before us, if we accept Jesus Christ as our savior, live according to God word, the promise shall be unto us.  So beloved accept your gift, do not let nothing or no one keep you from eternal life, because God wants you to have it.  Amen

Choice.  One thing is for sure in life is that we all are going to have to make a choice.  Everyday we are going to have to make a choice on something.  Whether is what to wear for the day, what we are going to eat for the day, what we going to say to another person, is we going to be happy today and on and on.  What is important in our choice, is not that we make a choice, but did we make the right choice.  If we know that we are going to have a choice, why not try to make sure it is the right choice.  Yes, there is a right and wrong in everything we do.  Some choices can hurt us and some don’t hurt us.  In choosing  what to do or not to do we should want to make the right choice.  One key ingredient in making a choice is listening to the right counsel.  In Psalms chapter 1 it says “blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly”.  Who we take counsel from is important because we should always want to take godly counsel always.  What God think, and what God has to say about what we do, or say should be important to us.  Also we should do what Proverb 3:5-6 says, “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding, in all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths”.  Trusting God and acknowledging him will easy the decisions we have to make, because the Lord will always lead us to make the right decisions.  So beloved, strive to make the right choice, trust in God to help you, lead not to your own understand, but fear God and I know he will help you make the right choice in life.

A Good Conscience

Written By: IRoss - Oct• 13•14

A Good Conscience.  The Pharisees brought unto Jesus a woman taken in adultery and set her in their midst.  The Pharisees then ask Jesus a question, now  Moses in the law commanded us, that such should be stoned:  but what sayest thou?  Jesus said to them he that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her.  Being convicted by their own conscience, went out one by one and left Jesus alone with the woman.  No one has to tell you if you are doing wrong or if you are doing right.  We all have a conscience of what is right and what is wrong.  We may not listen to our conscience when it comes to right or wrong but we all have a conscience.  Conscience is the sense of what is right or wrong in one’s conduct or motives.  We all know what our motives are and when we do things we know if it is right or wrong.  Jesus did not tell the Pharisees that they had sin in their lives, their own conscience convicted them of their sins.  Jesus came to clean us from a evil conscience, and dead works, that we may serve God with a good conscience.  Jesus wants us to know what is right, and then do what is right.  Let us serve God each day with a good conscience of knowing we have done what is right.  Let us put away every evil way, to ask God for grace, and strength to do his will.  We have a conscience toward God to please him, and let us let nothing stop us from doing his will.

False Prophets

Written By: IRoss - Oct• 06•14

False Prophets.  Jesus in his teachings told his disciples to beware of false prophets.  Yes, it is hard to believe that there are preachers out there that is not true, or real.  Anyone that say he come in the name of God and wears a suit we automatically assume that they are sent from God.  We must remember what Jesus said in Matthew 7:15  “Beware of false prophets which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.  Which mean they look like a man of God on the outside, they talk like one, but on the inside they are not a man of God.   Just because a man can quote scriptures, make you feel good, tell you all you want to here do not mean that he sent from God.   How do you know that a man is a false prophet?  Jesus said in Matthew 7:16 “Ye shall know them by their fruits”.  The only way you can know if anyone is true, real or genuine is  by their life styles.  Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.  How a preacher live, how he talk, how he treat people, are he out for your money, is ways you can tell.  Only judge someone by their fruits, not how big of church they have, or the money they have.  Jesus also warned his disciples that there shall be many false prophets in the world, not a few but many, you may not know but there is more false prophets than true prophets out in the world, why is that because remember we have a adversary the devil who come to steal, kill, and destroy who is out to deceive us.  So my friends be aware of false prophets, know that every man is not from God, prove all things, ask God for leadership and counsel and I know God will help you to see who is false and who is true.  By their fruits you shall know them.
